Rumah Jabatan Kepala Kantor Perwakilan BI Jawa Tengah
This official residence of the Head of Bank Indonesia Central Java Representative Office is a historic building that blends colonial architecture with local cultural values. Built in 1931 by renowned Dutch architect Herman Thomas Karsten—who also designed the famous Johar Market—the house exemplifies architectural elegance. In 2023, Bank Indonesia carried out a full restoration to return the residence to its original 1931 form, restoring its roof, ceiling, doors, windows, walls, and floors. The restoration also revived the interior layout, including the living room, dining area, bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen. On February 2, 2024, the Semarang City Government officially designated the residence as a cultural heritage building.
