Tegal’s Water Tower, now known as the Water Toren, is a colonial-era landmark located on Jalan Pancasila. Built in 1931 and inaugurated on March 5, 1932, the tower was designed to store and supply clean water to the European district, the Pangkah sugar factory, and surrounding areas.
Water from the tower was distributed through a pipe network, making it a vital piece of infrastructure at the time. Today, it is managed by the regional water company Perumda Tirta Bahari and remains a city icon attracting locals and tourists alike.
