Larangan Indah Beach in Munjungagung Village is a coastal destination combining natural beauty, cultural heritage, and folklore. It is known for hosting the annual sedekah laut (sea offering) tradition, deeply rooted in local customs.
The name “Larangan” derives from a hamlet within the village. In 1935, Larangan and Karangjati merged into Munjungagung due to low population and lack of local leadership—Munjungagung meaning “a grand union.” One notable natural feature is Karang Jeruk, a group of offshore rocks favored by anglers and snorkelers, accessible via a 30-minute boat ride and marked by a lighthouse on the southwestern edge.
