The tomb complex of Sunan Pandanaran is located on Jalan Mugas No. 6, South Semarang. Sunan Pandanaran's real name is Sayid Abdul Qadir, who was born in Pasai. Several sources state that he was the son of Maulana Ishaq, one of the guardians who spread Islam in Java. On the orders of Sunan Giri, Sayid Abdul Qadir became the first Adipati (Regent) of Semarang with the title Sunan Pandanaran I. Another version calls this figure Pandanarang or Padhang Aran. As the son of a Sunan, Sayid Abdul Qadir also contributed to spreading Islam in the northern region of Java, especially Semarang.
