The tomb of Ki Ageng Selo is located in Selo Village, Tawangharjo District. This tomb is approximately 10 km east of Purwodadi City, Grobogan Regency. Ki Ageng Selo is believed to have extraordinary supernatural powers to the point that with his supernatural powers, he can catch lightning. Ki Ageng Selo is also believed by the Javanese people to be the ancestor who gave birth to kings in the land of Java. Therefore, it is not surprising that the kings of Surakarta and Yogyakarta, also took care of and guarded this old tomb complex. Before Gerebeg Mulud was carried out in Surakarta, envoys from the Kasunanan Palace would come to the tomb of Ki Ageng Selo to take the eternal flame that is always burning. The fire is stored in a cupboard, inside the tomb complex. The fire from Selo is considered a sacred fire, and from it the lights in the Palace, both Kasunanan and Kasultanan will be lit for the following year (Interview with Abdul Rochim, Caretaker of the Tomb of Ki Ageng Selo, June 23, 2019).
