Peninggalan R. Ng. Yasadipura I dan II

The tomb of Yasadipura I is located in Pengging, Banyudono, Boyolali. R. Ng. Yasadipura I was the son of Raden Tumenggung Padmonegoro and Siti Mariyam. When he was young, R.T. Padmonegoro became a Mataram soldier who followed Sultan Agung Hanyokrokusumo when he fought the Company in Batavia, and thanks to his bravery and skill in war, he was later appointed as Regent of Pekalongan. The four works of R. Ng. Yasadipura that are of the highest value are Serat Rama (adaptation of Kakawin Ramayana), Serat Bratayuda (adaptation of Kakawin Bharatayuddha), Serat Mintaraga (adaptation of Kakawin Arjuna Wiwaha), and Serat Arjuna Sasrabahu (adaptation of Kakawin Arjuna Wijaya), which were composed in the form of macapat verses with the new Javanese language. Another work of Yasadipura I is Serat Menak which is an adaptation of Hikayat Amir Hamzah in Malay, containing the story of the heroism of Hamzah bin Abdul-Muththalib, the uncle of the Prophet Muhammad. He also created a historical document entitled Babad Giyanti, which contains the story of the division of the Kasunanan Surakarta region in 1755 into the Kasunanan Surakarta and the Yogyakarta Sultanate.
